Certified Nursing Assistants and Home Health Aides have specialized training that enables them to provide personal (hands-on) care, such as bathing, dressing, skin care, incontinence care, and helping clients to remember to take their pills. The care they provide includes all of the services that a Companion/Homemaker provides.

Companion/Homemakers provide socialization, conversation, grocery shopping, meal preparation, household tasks, and clean up. They may perform casual, cosmetic assistance such as hair brushing, applying makeup, and filing and polishing nails. If the client needs to have a hand or elbow held to walk or get out of a chair safely the companion/homemaker is able to assist.
